What can I buy with Baby Bucks at the Baby Boutique?
Our most popular items are diapers (sizes 1-5) and baby clothes (sizes 0-24 months). We also have maternity clothes, toys, bottles, shoes, hats, strollers, exersaucers, swings, books, socks, sippy cups, cribs, bath tubs, and more!
With the exception of diapers, most of our items are donated by other clients or people in the community. All used items are cleaned and inspected so that we can offer the best quality for you, the client. We do not accept stained or damaged items.

My pregnancy with my son was unplanned. Even with a full time job, I was unsure how I was going to financially raise a child on my own. The ABC Life Center's "Earn While You Learn" program gave me the opportunity to earn the things my son needed while being educated on my pregnancy. The ABC Life Center was different from most other agencies. I was not judged or labeled based on my income or social status. The staff and volunteers were very welcoming and always greeted us with a smile. My son and I have been blessed by the generosity of all those involved with ABC Life Center. Thank you for all you have done.

If you already know you are pregnant, or if you are raising a child under two years old, you are eligible to become a client in our Earn While You Learn (EWYL) program. Simply call our center at 814.432.2229 to be added to our waiting list. Please let us know your school or work schedule so we can find a time that is best for you.
At your weekly appointment, you will meet one-on-one with a trained consultant to watch videos about pregnancy and/or parenting. You then earn "Baby Bucks" which you can spend on maternity clothes and baby items in our Baby Boutique.
**All sessions are kept completely confidential.**
Who can be an ABC Life Center client?
Anyone who is currently pregnant or has a child under age 2 can be a client. There are no income requirements, and all of our services are free to you, the client. We do not discriminate based on age, race, nationality, gender, disability, religion, or marital status. While most of our clients are mothers, we have occasionally worked with single fathers or with grandparents raising grandchildren.
What happens at a typical session?
Each session is scheduled on the hour (9:00am-7:00pm Tuesdays or 9:00am-5:00pm Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday). A client and consultant are scheduled to meet for a one-hour session. The client and consultant watch a short DVD about a topic relevant to the particular stage of pregnancy or the current age of the child.
Our many topics include prenatal care, nutrition, first aid and safety information, ultrasounds, the effects of smoking, adoption, infant temperament, prevention of child abuse and sudden infant death syndrome, preparation for labor and delivery, stages of fetal development, car seat safety, discipline, breastfeeding, child care, toilet training, sleep, post-partum depression, the importance of reading, and a special Bringing Up Boys series. We also have a Bible study or "book study" available on request.
How do I earn "Baby Bucks"?
At each appointment, the consultant determines how many "Baby Bucks" the client has earned for the week. Because of the many ways to earn "Baby Bucks," a client typically earns 3-5 at each session. These can be spent immediately or saved for a later purchase.
